WDPS Specimen Rules 2010 (Carp and Pike)
1 No pike fishing on any still water before 1st October and after
31st March.
2 All anglers must have a knotless landing net with a frame not
less than 36 inches.
3 Minimum BS reel line of 12 lbs.
4 Minimum 20 inches of non-coated wire trace of not less than 20
lbs BS. (Pike)
5 Only barbless hooks to be used, with a maximum size of 6 when
fishing for Pike
6 Not more than two trebles per trace.(Pike)
7 All pike anglers must use forceps of not less than 10 inches.
8 Stalking is only allowed from numbered swims. No stalking allowed
if tackle has been left in another swim.
9 When spinning, a wire trace is to be used at all times.
10 Unhooking mats must be used at all times, minimum size 44"
x 28"**.
11 Carp care kits must be carried at all times
12 Unattended swims
If a rod is left unattended, the hook and bait must be withdrawn
from the water and made safe from wildlife. Leaving tackle at any
position for the purpose of reserving is not allowed.
13 Hooks
Shank - bent hooks are banned on all Society waters. Barbless or
Micro barbed hooks preferred when fishing for carp.
14 Bait Boats may be used providing they are used sensibly and do
not disturb other anglers.
15. Rods
Only 2 rods may be used at any time between 1st April and 30th September.
From the 1st October to 31st of March inclusive 3 rods may be used
providing such use does not interfere with other anglers and that
a covering environment agency licence is held.
16. A maximum of 48 hours is allowed at any one time at Laybrook.
Any extension of this must be agreed with a bailiff BEFORE FISHING.
